Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent injury caused by ergonomic factors.  Responsible for the creation, maintenance and administration of ergonomic principles for HMMA Safety functions.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
  
• Research and investigate new methods and tools; continuously conduct hazardous prevention and control processes; and recommend measures to help protect Team Members from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
  
• Investigate incidents and accidents to identify causes and to determine how they might be prevented in the future.
  
• Complete reports, analyze incidents to identify trends, and implement countermeasures.
  
• Develop and conduct safety training and education programs and demonstrate the proper use of equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
  
• Provide training for new/transferred Team Members, contractors, and visitors.
  
• Coordinate and lead safety meetings pertaining to ergonomic-related issues or concerns.
  
• Promote the implementation of health and wellness programs.
  
• Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management Systems (BMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) requirements.
  
• Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications

Occasional travel (domestic, foreign), working hours may include weekends, holidays, and/or off shifts.

Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, or a relevant field required

Advanced degree desired 

Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) preferred
