Our SAFETY MANAGER is responsible for maintaining and improving the company’s overall safety environment.  This would include the company’s fleet safety, DOT regulations, OSHA initiatives, and overall employee safety.


 


ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES


 


·          Ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT and other Federal/State safety regulations at all RTI locations.


·          Improves and maintains RTI safety related policies and procedures.


·          Develops and manages a comprehensive Safety Program to cover environmental, DOT and OSHA requirements.


·          Investigates all safety incidents--i.e., injuries, vehicle accidents, spills, and "near misses"--and identifies the cause and the corrective action for each incident.


·          Measures and communicates the company’s safety performance against published requirements in safety policies.


·          Ensures site leadership is trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each safety policy and laws.


·          Leads proactive hazard identification and abatement efforts, communicates results and tracks open items to resolution.


·          Conducts Hazard Evaluations and Risk Assessments at all locations.


·          Analyzes incident and accident data to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.


·          Chairs the National Safety Committee.


·          Coordinates and creates safety rewards and incentives programs and evaluates the programs for effectiveness.


·          Maintains effective and excellent relationships with our internal managers.


 


POSITION REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION



  • Experience – Minimum of 5 years of safety experience.  Preferably in transportation related environment.

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with an emphasis in business and/or occupational safety.

  • Strong working knowledge MS Office products; proficient in excel

  • Expert in safety, OSHA and DOT laws preferred
