SAFETY TRAINER
Anticipated time requirement: 2-4 days per month
Milwaukee, WI Plant
WE WILL CONSIDER PART TIME EMPLOYMENT OR A CONTRACTOR FOR THIS POSITION
The Safety Trainer is responsible for ensuring that new hires are properly trained as to Company Safety and Environmental Procedures via classroom training and testing. The Safety Trainer may also be called upon to retrain employees as needed.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Provide safety and environmental training to new hires
· Review Hazard Communication Requirements as well as Material Safety Data Sheets to ensure that all employees are aware of safety requirements for the safe handling of both our raw materials as well as finished good materials
· Review the facility contingency plan
· Perform respirator fit testing
· Review various environmental programs
· Conduct requisite re-training and/or re-testing of employees in order to comply with environmental and safety standards
· Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· Education level strongly preferred: High school diploma plus technical or associate degree from a two year college program
· Additional education in environment and safety programs/procedures in a chemical environment
· One to three years of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred
· Excellent computer and communication skills
· Ability to speak in front of groups
· Willing to work in a team environment
· Ability to work a flexible schedule
· Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. May be required to train at Batavia, IL plant in addition to Milwaukee, WI plant.
