Objectives:


Primarily responsible for:


Representing The Dentists Insurance Company (TDIC) and TDIC Insurance Solutions insurance products and carrier offerings.  Advocating for insurance products at dental components, dental schools, and specialty and ethnic dental societies throughout the state.  Educating Nevada Dental Association (NDA) members on insurance products, member benefits, products, and services.  Increasing product penetration in assigned territory.  Increasing the retention and account development of existing member dentists.


 


Position Responsibilities



  1. Profile assigned territory to clearly identify oppportunities for new business, including cross selling and upselling.

  2. Along with the Director of Distribution Management, develop a sales plan with specific activities to capitalize upon the opportunities identified in your territory profile.  Plan should include marketing activities needed to support sales effort; by product and line of business.

  3. Achieve annual sales goals and provide regular feedback to the Director of Distribution Management on progress toward meeting those goals.

  4. Identify new leads and actively pursue the sale of additional coverage’s and policies – cross selling and account development.

  5. Develop, present and sell new business proposals to NDA members.

  6. Dental School– Develop relationships and pursue opportunities with key school staff to exhibit and/or present at Practice Management Seminars, Alumni Events, and other key dental school events.  Explore and seek out opportunities for exposure within the Dental School residency programs.

  7. Dental Components – Develop relationships with and pursue opportunities with dental component executive directors and staff.  Advocate for the TDIC and TDIC Insurance Solutions insurance product offerings and pursue opportunities to gain exposure and educate NDA membership on commercial policies features and benefits.  Exhibit and present at membership meetings and new professionals group meetings.

  8. Attend and actively participate in all Nevada Risk Management meetings and presentations.

  9. Attend and actively participate in annual Dental Conference Meetings.

  10. Provide continuous professional advice and guidance that effectively addresses the insurance needs of existing and potential policyholders.

  11. Maintain a professional demeanor and actively support and promote a positive image of TDIC and TDIC Insurance Solutions to the NDA and its members, the Board of Directors and the Nevada dental schools.

  12. Attend and actively participate in regular sales meetings.

  13. Assist the Marketing & Communication department in the development of insurance product articles, promotions, and presentations. 

  14. Achieve educational and professional development goals established in annual development plan.

  15. Perform special projects at management’s request.

  16. Position requires more than 50% of the time selling outside the office with significant travel to current and potential clients. 

  17. Position requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.

QUALIFICATIONS & Skill Requirements:


 College degree or equivalent work experience. Major in Business Administration, Sales, Finance, Insurance or Risk Management preferred.  Minimum 3-5 years of commercial and life & health sales/underwriting experience.  Active P&C, Life and Health licenses.  Possess active and valid state driver’s license.  Selling and strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and presentation skills. Includes proven ability to present concepts and products to both small and large audiences.  Commitment to ongoing professional development through industry-sponsored educational programs.  Technical knowledge of P&C, Life & Health coverage’s and concepts.  Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and presentation skills.  Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.  Self-motivated and ability to independently make decisions and choose actions that conform to the organization’s ethical standards for excellence, integrity, respect and accountability.  Ability to effectively utilize-Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel) and Outlook.
