Sales Engineer - Aerospace (1701)
Description

Sales Engineers for the Aerospace Research business unit sell Windtunnel and Turbomachinery test instrumentation.  They have frequent customer contact via email, telephone and personal visits with travel 1/3 of the time, including weekends. Sales are generated through supporting longstanding customer relationships, demonstrating thorough understanding of customer measurement requirements, articulating the superior benefits of the more expensive PSI solution and developing new customers from general market knowledge. Sales engineers are expected to lead a sales meeting and direct company resources to communicate company capabilities to high level technically oriented customers and prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • Trace and qualify leads through phone, e-mail and direct visits
  • Identify prospective users and present products to key contacts
  • Communicate customer and market trends to Sales Director
  • Coordinate solutions with Operations, Customer Service and Engineering departments within PSI.
  • Document customer interaction within company ERP system
  • Identify, document and participate in resolving quality issues
  • Travel up to 33% to include overnight
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Experience

5 years minimum technical sales experience. College degree preferred.
