SALES ENGINEER - WORK ROLE
To provide superior pre-sales technical support as a subject matter expert to the sales and sales engineering organization. The Sales Engineer interacts with clients to execute the technical aspects of the Level (3) sales strategy. The SE works as an overlay expert in tandem with Level (3) Account Directors and Sales Engineers directly supporting the accounts, and actively participates in sales calls. The SE helps qualify sales opportunities, resolves all technical issues arising during the sales engagement, helps clients define specifications and requirements, develops solutions, and provides technology presentations to both technical and management-level audiences. The SE will provide appropriate feedback to product teams on customer experience/ product features/functionality and service management.

SALES ENGINEER - EXPERT LEVEL
Individual with have in-depth product knowledge across all voice products as well as industry / segment knowledge with recognized expertise in key areas. Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles. Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Creates formal and informal networks involving coordination among groups. Have existing strong relationships within the Sales Engineering, Sales, Product Management and Architecture and Engineering (A&E) organizations as well as other key stakeholder groups (to include SVP/GVP level Management). Acts independently to determine correct methods and procedures on new or special assignments. Individual should be able to convey and sell the technical, operational, financial and strategic benefits for an organization to migrate their voice infrastructure to a VoIP solution. Candidate should have a broad base of contacts within the voice space. Trains and develops Sales and SE to further develop knowledge of voice services. Typically requires a minimum of 15+ years of related experience. At this level post-graduate coursework, strong business acumen (to include understanding P&L impact), an ability to communicate and build relationships with C-level executives and technical certifications will be expected.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Recognized expert within a discipline and acknowledged authority representing leading edge or complex technologies, theories and techniques. Operates within the most complex disciplines in which the organization must be preeminent in order to succeed. Expected to provide strategic direction, guidance and integration of a specific organization's products or services. Addresses problems that represent the broadest and most complex integration of multiple, leading-edge disciplines within the organization

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE
* Typically requires 15+ years of industry experience plus 10 years of sales engineering or product marketing experience.
And / Or
* Master's or Doctoral degree in a relevant field
And / Or
* In depth expertise in SIP and TDM voice protocols/signaling
* Working knowledge of PSTN architectures within the enterprise and/or carrier space
* IP expertise (IP, RTP, QoS, BGP)
* Knowledge of voice applications and CPE (Call center, IVR, ACD, PBX, Gateways, SBC, etc)

* Technical resource possessing a proficiency level in many technical functions
* Organizational expert with a discipline to support highly complex or leading edge work
