About the Job

What you will do:


Tyco Retail Solutions is seeking a North American Senior Sales Engineer to support retailer vertical account teams with hardware, software, and services sales of Inventory Level Intelligence, Traffic Intelligence, and EAS intelligence within the Tyco Retail Solution portfolio.  These solutions provide retailers capabilities to increase revenue, enhance operational efficiency, and reduce organizational costs through improved operational visibility.  The candidate will work directly with sales and account teams to drive additional growth and opportunity for Tyco’s Store Performance Solutions business and will be responsible for leading discussions and meetings specific to opportunity and benefit identification, requirements gathering and solution definition, and proposing approach and methodology during the opportunity identification and contracting phase. 


This role requires significant interaction with customer executives, managers, consultants and users.  Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable working and managing interactions with business partners and internal groups including Sales, Professional Services, Product Development, Operations, Support, and Development.


How you will do it:


Support North American sales and account management team in the definition, development and execution of customer-specific sales strategies. Participate in pre-sales planning meetings with customers to build and execute an RFID Adoption strategy. Support the sales process by increasing Tyco’s credibility, identifying business opportunities and developing program approach. Interact with customers through meetings (both in-person and Web-based), conference calls, and industry events to:

·        Educate executives and customer teams of potential opportunities for RFID

·        Identify potential benefit areas and associated KPI for RFID ILI solutions within their current and future business

·        Increase Tyco’s service and solution credibility through demonstration of Tyco solution capabilities, industry knowledge, and proven methodologies

·        Develop a RFID program strategy which allows customers to progress from value identification to chain-wide rollout and expansion

Work with Professional Services teams to draft and develop Statements of work, as well as RFI, RFQ, and RFP Responses. Drive the definition, development, and growth of the Sales Engineering organization.

What we look for:


  • Minimum five (5) years experience with RFID based solutions with at least five (5) years in solution-based consulting or sales.

  • Experience with solution scoping, ROI analysis, and Program roadmap development is expected.

  • Familiarity with the following within the Retail vertical is a plus:

  1. RFID related projects, and/or inventory management knowledge;

  2. Traffic Intelligence, and/or resource management solution experience;

  3. Business Process refinement or development.

  • Professional services experience with a Big Four accounting firm, system integrator or custom software developer is a plus.

  • A creative, customer-focused, self-driven individual committed to identifying opportunities and driving ongoing customer success through revenue growth and increase efficiencies.

  • Problem solving – identifying and developing solutions based on existing processes or systems.

  • Ability to work under limited, general supervision and exercise independent judgment.

  • Excellent communications, planning and organization skills, and fosters good working relationships with peers and colleagues.

  • Travel experience and ability to travel domestically up to 50%.

  • Proficient with MS Office and SharePoint.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business from an accredited university.

  • Prior experience with customized solution development, RFP Response development, and process consulting a plus.
