Summary of Position:
The Sales Engineer will act as a primary technical point of contact for prospective and
existing customers. The Sales Engineer is an integral member of the Regional Sales and Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) team providing support in all technical aspects in developing and implementing technical solutions for customer’s service requirements, including full-time services, Occasional Use, Special Event Video and data contribution services.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform pre-qualification technical due diligence of opportunities, bid/no bid recommendations, optimized systems design and analysis, equipment recommendation, competitive and costing analysis, proposal preparation, service activation instructions, and customer presentations.
Assign carriers, optimization of loading of satellite resources and maintenance of records of service, time and carrier parameters in the satellite resources management database.
Provide instructions to customers, payload and satellite operations centers for service activations and transponder reconfigurations such that service and system integrity is protected.
Coordinate with customers, engineering operations and asset management groups for the resolution of operational problems.
Provide support for the development of technical analysis tools.
Manage test process and evaluation system for evaluation, acceptance and registration of customer’s earth station antennas in compliance with SES technical standards.
Track and understand new network technologies, products, and satellite network applications and an understanding of their use in SES service offerings.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Master’s Degree a plus.
Minimum 3-6 years relevant sales engineering experience
Proficiency in satellite transmission analysis and optimization
Demonstration of sound working knowledge of digital video broadcasting via satellite
Strong Radio Frequency (RF) knowledge and techniques
Knowledge of terrestrial circuit provision to support video, data, and IP connectivity
A strong knowledge of data IP networks and IP platforms
Knowledge of VSAT network systems and their use for broadband IP access services and private network services for voice and data is desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish is required; familiarity with Portuguese is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and sales proposal skills
Ability to work effectively in teams
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Willing to travel internationally, and meet directly with customer
Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder
