About the Job
Vesta is seeking a creative and motivated Sales Engineering Manager to support its growth worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between the Development/Operations team and the Account Management team
- Represent Development/Operations during client meetings with Sales and Account Management, providing technical and engineering information by answering questions and leading technical discussions
- Assist Operations with resolution of technical issues, ensuring that the customer and Sales/Marketing are kept informed
- Deliver articulate and effective presentations to both technical and business audiences at all levels
- Work with client technical representatives to understand business requirements and consult with internal departments to create technical specifications and Statements of Work with the Sales/Account Management team, ensuring the engineering quality and accuracy of system design, configuration and pricing
- Maintain a strong understanding of Vesta products and services
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressively responsible Sales Engineer, Technical Marketing Manager, or Product Marketing Manager experience
- Demonstrated ability to align appropriate technical solutions to effectively address customer business needs
- Strong background in account planning and/or proposal delivery, combined with proactive customer management skills and an understanding of the complete marketing, sales and project life cycle as applied to engineering
- Experience effectively presenting technical information and gathering technical requirements during client sales meetings
- Proven track record of coordinating several departments toward a common goal and solving challenging operational challenges through careful and detailed analysis, planning and execution
- Proactive, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work independently at all levels in the organization. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Team player with exceptional time management skills
- Minimum two years of telecommunications and/or wireless experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems or equivalent experience, MBA a plus
- Current industry contacts a plus
- Willingness to travel required
The Sales Engineering Manager is a full-time position based in Portland, Oregon. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
