Job Description:

Our client is seeking an associate for Business Development - Federal Space (Finance and Accounting Solutions). This BD Manager position is located in Fairfax, VA and is responsible for identifying new opportunities within the DoD acquisition customer base, together with associated sales, and managing the business development processes and resources in the Fairfax, VA region.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Contribute to strategy development/execution and participate in proposal preparation

  • Partner with the Financial Management and Accounting Solutions Division to identify business opportunities

  • Lead efforts for the client in the pursuit and capture of Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security Financial Management contracts to include Budgeting, Accounting, OMB-A123 Appendix A Internal Controls, CFO Act Compliance, and financial systems work

  • Participate in business IPTs and USBD related IPTs

  • Open the doors for client ideas, solutions, and capabilities by conducting timely client capabilities sessions with various customers

  • Support opportunity reviews for Business Development of Finance and Accounting opportunities



The skills, experience, and knowledge required to be considered for this position include:

  • Prior experience selling finance and accounting services to the federal government

  • Ability to open the doors for client ideas, solutions, and capabilities by conducting timely client capabilities sessions with various customers

  • Ability to articulate technical/business issues to customers and client management

  • Ability to conduct market assessments and assist in the preparation of business plans

  • Work successfully in a team environment and develop/maintain personal/business relationships

  • Understand DoD process to include Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) as well as a knowledge of budgetary exhibits and requirements based budgeting

  • Ability to characterize and communicate strategies, policies and initiatives, and requirements across client; be the 'voice of the customer' to the client

  • Ability to develop and sustain a client partner network among other companies to strengthen capabilities and manage growth with new customers

  • Proven ability to develop effective internal and external relationships through personal influence
