Responsibility:
The specific responsibilities of this function are as follows:
1. Clearly understand the products, services and marketing position in order to effectively market and sell to new customers.
2. Identify key prospects by market segment and geographic priority. Develop, and keep current, key prospect files through the use of software or manual files.
3. Determine ways to gain customers interest in our company’s products and services (i.e. obtain and keep appointments).
4. Get to know each customer’s business, the problems/needs that they have, and be able to address creative solutions for those problems.
5. Build relationships with potential customers that lead to future sales and/or referrals.
6. Develop your ability to read customer’s positive and negative signals, and handle them effectively.
7. Develop timely, well-written proposals.
8. Develop and deliver dynamic customer focused presentations.
9. Effectively handle and positively work through objections.
10. Effectively obtain commitment and close business.
11. Develop specific, measurable quarterly and annual goals then present these to the operations group.
12. Work with operations to effectively relieve and eliminate buyer’s remorse. Stay in touch with customers to ensure the organization is honoring our commitments to them.
13. Develop concise sales activity reports that also accurately demonstrate your performance and accomplishments to the operations team, on a monthly basis.
14. Build networking relationships within the company in order to access the resources necessary to obtain contracts and sales leads.
15. Marketing – Raise the visibility of the organization to existing and future customers through publications and website refinement.
