Independent Sales Representative

• We are currently searching for an independent sales rep for Indianapolis and the surrounding area.

Who are we?

• We are Charlie & Me, a respected greeting card and gift sales agency that has been in business for over 25 years.  We have solidified our place in the retail marketplace by bringing our retail customers the service they deserve and the products they need to be successful.


• We are the exclusive representatives for 25 manufacturers in the greeting card & gift industry in our 4 state coverage area of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.  Some of our products include:  Greeting cards, calendars, note cards, social stationery, notepads, journals, games, puzzles and general gift.


• We participate in the Chicago Gift & Home Market in January and July.


• We keep our territory size small yet financially rewarding.


• We represent our manufacturers to a wide variety of retailers, which include – Card & Gift, Hallmark, Stationery, Party, Hospitals, Bookstores, Grocery, Pharmacies, and so many more.


• We know our reps are the most important component of our family oriented business.

What qualities are we looking for?

• A self-motivated individual who works well independently from a home based office and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit.


• Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.


• Experience in outside sales (gifts and greeting cards a plus).


• Commission minded individual who wants to determine how much they are worth and earn it through our rewarding commission structure.


• A LOVE for selling


• Relationship building and good communication skills


• Ability to manage multiple lines, open new accounts, maintain/build on existing accounts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and increase business to existing and new accounts within your territory.


• Present products to retail customers in a beneficial way and write orders.


• Send orders to manufacturers for fulfillment.


• Quote prices and terms and prepare sales agreements when necessary.


• Attend and participate in sales meetings and tradeshows.

Charlie & Me is a family oriented business.  Our Sales Reps function as Independent Contractors and are responsible for all their business expenses.  Our compensation is commission only – you determine your worth.  Only those with a true belief in their ability and an entrepreneurial spirit should apply.
