Sales Representative

TecServ is part of Karcher Floor Care, a global leader in building and equipment maintenance.  We have over 35 years experience providing service and after-market parts to the large retail store industry nationwide, repairing and supplying parts for floor cleaning and material handling equipment.  We are currently seeking an experienced Sales Representative. The territory that will be covered will be Central / Northern New Jersey, N.Y metro area and Long Island N.Y.

Summary

The qualified individual for this position will be responsible for sales development within a specific geographic region. This position sells products and services in the material handling, floor care, and refuse / recycling sectors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers via meetings, telephone calls and emails
• Visiting potential customers to prospect for new business
• Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales
• Gather customer information
• Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the Branch Manager
• Reviewing own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets
• Gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements
• Providing customers with quotations
• Perform equipment demonstrations

Qualifications

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

·        Self-starter with the ability to work independently

·        Above average organizational skills

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office software

·        Adaptability to changing customer environments

      Experience in the Floor Care Industry a plus

Experience

• BA/BS Degree or 5 years business to business sales experience
• Industrial/Commerical equipment and service background preferred
• Exposure with Retail Grocers is a plus (but not required)
