Sales Representative

A National Manufacturer / Supplier, is seeking a full time sales representative to service home center accounts in the New Hampshire and Maine area. This sales representative will be responsible for providing customers with first rate customer service by maintaining store sets, assisting end user customers, work closely with store management, and working closely with other sales representatives, as well as the Regional Sales Manager.
The ideal candidate is self motivated, ambitious, works well independently, work as a team player, have strong communication skills, customer friendly, and the ability to build relationships with store management teams. Knowledge of basic landscaping materials is preferred, but not necessary.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Set product displays and new store sets.
* Perform demonstration clinics and conduct product knowledge classes.
* Participate in regional training classes and events.
* Generate sales reports and review with store management.
* Conduct district manager meetings to review sales and opportunities.
* Merchadise products according to planogram.
* Ensure correct pricing and signage.
* Clean and maintain store displays, POP materials, and isles in specified territory.
* Review on hand inventory for accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
* Replenish Literature
* Negotiate and issue credits for damages.
* Assist customers in aisles with information, calculations, and loading.
* Communicate with area sales reps and regional managers.
* Follow established safety rules and maintain a safe work / shopping environment.
Skills & Competencies:
* Basic knowledge of landscaping or possess an interest to learn.
* Knowledge of basic retail merchandising.
* Ability to prioritize activities and use resources to complete the required tasks.
* Ability to communicate effectively with customers and store personal.
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
* Ability to follow directions.
* Use of basic hand and power tools.
* Ability to work 40 plus hours per week.
* Good computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft programs ( Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point)
* Written and oral communication skills as well as basic math calculation skills.
* Personal Vehicle / Proof of Insurance / Valid drivers License
* Willing to travel and overnite stays may be required.
* Capable of lifting 60 lbs.
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, perform repetitive motions, and work from a ladder.
* Ability to work outside.
* Associates degree or equivalent from a 2 year college, technical school, or equivalent in experience, training and education.
