We are seaking a highly qualified sales trainer who designs, coordinates and delivers a comprehensive sales training program that provides sales skills, the selling process and product knowledge for our sales representatives. The Sales Trainer will conduct interactive training sessions and utilize learning tools to educate, discuss and practice sales techniques, methods, ethics, skills and tips that promote meeting and exceeding quota expectations. Topics include telemarketing, talk tracks, demo skills, cold calling, soaring data base, various products, time and territory management, proposal writing, administration, financing/leasing, and closing. The person will also accompany new hire reps on outside sales calls to observe sales methods utilized and provide one-on-one coaching to enhance skill levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement and administer training program for sales representatives.
- Train and develop the sales workforce.
- Improve performance of current underperforming sales representatives.
- Continue education of all sales representatives to improve and insure the further development and product knowledge of all sales reps.
- Facilitate new hire training for all new sales representatives.
- Provide hands on training and coaching to sales representatives in the office and in the field.
- Design, deploy or acquire new and innovative training programs for sales organization.
- Work with Global Training and Development to provide consistent training.
- Work with managers and HR Director to reduce turnover and recruit/select best candidates for sales positions.
- Assess individual’s development and training needs and provide feedback to management staff.
- Create and manage database for tracking sale rep development and training initiatives.
- Works with management staff to develop essential training programs that will help the organization achieve its sales plan.
Requirements
- 3-5 years outside sales experience in the Copier/Office Products/Solutions industry.
- Specialized education in marketing, sales, and adult training/education skills as would be acquired in college and/or prior experience as a sales trainer.
- Proven track record of developing talent in a fast-paced organization.
- High level of analytical ability is required in order to find solutions to difficult human, technical and administrative problems.
- High level of communication skills (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of employees on various subject matters and to convey knowledge and ideas in a logical and interesting manner to others.
- Understanding and knowledge of the adult learning theory, group behavior, motivational theories, selling techniques and communication techniques.
- Ability to evaluate and present effective solutions for employee development needs.
- Cooperative and collaborative style and skills.
- Computer literate.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in a related field and likely to have had several years of experience conducting sales training in the copier/office equipment industry as well as recent successes in training and development in a highly competitive market.
