EchoStar aggressively recruits energetic, driven, intelligent people to meet the demands of our exciting industry and to help us reach our vision of changing the way the world communicates. To add to our team, we are seeking Engineering Technicians and Engineers located in Gilbert, AZ.  

JOB SUMMARY
Fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of the radio-frequency (RF) equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations; such as waveguide assemblies, cables, and fiber-optic systems. Performs component-level troubleshooting required on High-Power Amplifiers (HPA), fiber-optic systems, upconverters, downconverters, RF switching units, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), Low-Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) and Low-Noise Block Downconverters (LNBs), and switching and/or monitoring audio/video equipment. Performs maintenance and repair on large transmit/receive and receive-only satellite antenna systems. Provide sketches of drawings required for equipment installation. Position is subject to shift work.

SKILLS:

  • This position requires system level and bench level electronics troubleshooting experience.
  • Operational configurations awareness and routine preventative maintenance skills required.
  • Must be able to perform shift work as a cohesive part of a team and with minimal supervision.
  • The ability to read and interpret schematics, assemble wave guide systems, efficiently utilize sophisticated test equipment, perform documentation tasks, and successfully interact with management & engineers is a must.

Minimum qualifications to be considered are:
EXPERIENCE:  

  • Four years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Successful candidate must have knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) electronic transmission & reception technologies preferably in the satellite space-to-ground-link field of telecommunications.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs.
  • Ability to clime 39 foot antennas and maintain/repair satellite dishes

EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Electronics from an accredited college or technical school, 3+years earth station systems experience and/or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts including algebra.
