Job Summary

A lead identification group has been created in the Bioscience Expertise Unit to identify functional molecules and optimize into consumer products to provide skin care benefits. This multidisciplinary group manages the infrastructure for high throughput experimentation within the unit including automated screening, pharmacology, and analytical measurements of clinical samples.

Responsibibities

The focus of the current opening is on assay development and screening, instrumentation, and database management. The ideal candidate will work with a network comprising Unilever scientists, external consultants and off-site suppliers.

Essential criteria: Proven understanding of the drug discovery process including concepts of high throughput screening, experimental design and computer programming for automated workstations including Beckman FX, Tecan Genesis, and Sagian ORCA.Knowledge of Tissue Culture, HPLC and Mass Spectrometry is also desired.

Familiarity with principles of molecular biology, fluorescent and radioisotope assays is a plus along with the ability to create visual basic macros for data processing and statistical analysis with emphasis on database management.

This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with scientists in a strong teamwork environment in addition to strong written and oral communication skills.

Key Requirements

-BS in Science, Masters preferred.The candidate should possess a strong background in biology and chemistry in addition to excellent computer skills. Supervisory skills are a plus.
