Title:  Scientist (Sr.), Engineer/Materials/R&D/Quality

Reports to:  Director/R&D

Location:  Netcong, NJ

Company:  $Multi-mil company provides passive fireproofing materials throughout the Americas and worldwide under its Brand name.  Recognized world leader in passive fireproofing and the only manufacturer whose specific focus is with a complete line of products providing solutions to the Construction industry.

Responsibilities:

·         Plan, conduct and coordinate Research, Testing and Product Development programs in order to meet Corporate plans and objectives

·         Conduct Research programs in order to develop new and improve existing products

·         Coordinate all Product Testing including in-house, outside lab and testing programs

·         Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing, including matters related to Environmental regulations

·         Supervise and coordinate all competitive audits

·         Write raw material, manufacturing and testing specifications and procedures

·         Determine product performance

·         Supervise maintenance of the lab and assure safe working practices within the department

·         Maintain accuracy and dependability of lab and testing equipment

·         Represent the company in technical associations

·         Supervise, train and appraise the performance of technicians and lab personnel

Experience:

·         The ideal Candidate will have had experience in the Design and Development of Fire Resistive products for the Construction industry....or relevant industry background

·         Must be an independent worker with strong Leadership and Communications skills

·         Experience with inorganic materials preferred

·         Able to handle projects from initial conception through market introduction

·         Work with customers and identify their needs

·         Able to multi-task with an entrepreneurial approach

·         Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in same or similar industry

Education:

BS degree in Science or Engineering

Advanced degrees are a plus

Compensation:

Up to $100K, plus 6% bonus.   Excellent benefits, 401K, etc.

Some travel, both domestic and international.

NO RELOCATION....MUST LIVE IN OR COMMUTE TO NORTHERN NEW JERSEY.
