Position Summary:
Under the direction of one of the operation managers, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe & efficient packaging of product that meets customer quality and service standards.
This position will work second shift - 3:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. and occasional weekends.
Preferred Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- SAFETY TAKES TOP PRIORITY IN ALL ACTIVITIES
- Responsible for all production functions for assigned shift, to include quality assurance, schedule adherence and the training/development of assigned employees.
- Direct, supervise, and motivate assigned employees, regarding safety, quality, productivity and training.
- Control production costs within defined department standards.
- Recommend the hiring & termination of hourly employees as necessary. Allocate manpower within company guidelines
- Meet operational objectives by attaining the goals and targets established by the Value Stream Manager.
- Coordinate and support (as required) the development, application, production testing, and introduction of new methods, materials, and machinery
- Conduct Shift Meetings on a scheduled basis to facilitate plant communications.
- Conduct regular appraisals of employee performance.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws relative to an industrial environment, i.e., OSHA, EPA, GMP, etc.
- Keep abreast with current packaging industry technology.
- Understand, support, and implement all Divisional and Corporate Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.
Preferred Experience Requirements:
- 2 years manufacturing experience preferred
- 3 – 5 years supervisory experience preferred
