Position Summary:

Under the direction of one of the operation managers, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe & efficient packaging of product that meets customer quality and service standards. 

This position will work second shift - 3:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. and occasional weekends.

Preferred Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree is required.

Primary Responsibilities:                                                                              

• SAFETY TAKES TOP PRIORITY IN ALL ACTIVITIES
• Responsible for all production functions for assigned shift, to include quality assurance, schedule adherence and the training/development of assigned employees.
• Direct, supervise, and motivate assigned employees, regarding safety, quality, productivity and training.
• Control production costs within defined department standards.
• Recommend the hiring & termination of hourly employees as necessary. Allocate manpower within company guidelines
• Meet operational objectives by attaining the goals and targets established by the Value Stream Manager.
• Coordinate and support (as required) the development, application, production testing, and introduction of new methods, materials, and machinery
• Conduct Shift Meetings on a scheduled basis to facilitate plant communications.
• Conduct regular appraisals of employee performance.
• Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws relative to an industrial environment, i.e., OSHA, EPA, GMP, etc.
• Keep abreast with current packaging industry technology.
• Understand, support, and implement all Divisional and Corporate Policies and Procedures.
• Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience Requirements:

• 2 years manufacturing experience preferred
• 3 – 5 years supervisory experience preferred

Computer skills – intermediate to advanced level skills.
