Security Analyst I 11/11/2009

Summary:

  • At Go Daddy, a Security Analyst is responsible for all aspects of Information Security; support, investigation, resolution and coming up with ways to prevent attacks from happening.
  • You’ll be responsible for using major network scanning systems and assessing and addressing security threats against our network.
  • Our environment is fast and dynamic. The ideal candidate will have experience working independently and should be able to give specific examples of how they’ve practiced good judgment calls when dealing with security incidents.

  

Please note:  This is an overnight shift from 9PM to 9AM with a 3 day weekend every other week.

 

What does the job entail?

  • Conducting forensic analysis and remediation of security incidents
  • Conducting vulnerability and penetration testing
  • Monitoring intrusion detection and prevention systems
  • Performing security audits of current infrastructure and applications
  • Monitoring security bulletins, determining applicability and coordinating action plans
  • Managing anti-virus systems
  • Installing security agents on new systems
  • Writing access control lists and updating firewalls as needed.
  • Using a SIM to weed out the noise

 

What do you need to do this job?

  • 3 years experience in implementing and supporting information security technologies
  • 2 years experience working in a heterogeneous network/host environment; ISP environment is preferred
  • Strong Linux and Windows and networking administrative experience
  • Forensic analysis experience
  • Strong SNORT Intrusion Detection experience with rule creation experience
  • Strong vulnerability and penetration testing experience in IIS and Apache.
  • Ability to secure a global network against ever growing list of threats
  • Additional valuable skills:
  • Experience using environmental tools such as Nessus and Nikto
  • Cisco Firewall and IPTables
  • Experience using tools such as tcpdump, WinDump and Wireshark to analyze packet captures
  • SIM or HIPS
  • MYSQL and/or MS SQL Server
  • Strong scripting skills, python, shell, vb, perl. We love flavor!

 

The Ideal candidate will have:

A College Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent job experience

CISSP or GIAC Certification.
