Department Overview

SymantecTM Managed Security ServicesTM delivers real-time security protection, helping organizations establish compliance, minimize business impact, and reduce overall security risk at acceptable cost in the face of todays emerging threats.

Responsibilities

Actively monitoring security threats and risks involving client infrastructure.
• Utilizing both proprietary and third party applications to review customer security logs on a real-time basis
• Assessing the impact of traffic on customer networks
• Adhering to established internal procedures and guidelines
• Articulating security issues to customers, both verbally and written
• Responding to customer security questions
• Understanding current vulnerabilities, attacks and countermeasures
• Conducting research on emerging security threats

Qualifications

Advanced college coursework in Computer Science or Information Technology
• Bachelor's degree in similar field desirable .
• Previous exposure to operations, SOC/NOC environment; and/ superior networking skills, including operating system platforms; routers, network protocols
• Intuitive knowledge or extreme passion around security architecture
• Working knowledge of current vulnerabilities and attacks; exposure to alert analysis in a computer network intrusion/detection environment or similar field desirable
• Any certification in the following are a plus:
o Security+,
o GCIH,
o CISSP
o SANS GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA)

Preferred Certifications MCSE, CCNA; with proficieny in any of the following: Cisco IDS/IPS, Cisco Pix, Checkpoint NG, Nokia IPSO, Juniper/Netscreen Firewall, Snort IDS, Syslog analysis.

This position is in a 24X7 facility and may require flexibility in working rotating 1st and 2nd shifts.
