Here, everyone matters and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission. As a Security Command Center Manager working on the Security team, a typical day will include: 

Responsibility for managing the 24x7 Security Command Center (SCC) and all its personnel, processes, operating procedures, standards, activities, responses, training, service agreements and programs.  Under management guidance, develops and implements the strategies for the monitoring, dissemination activities, services and capabilities attributable with a world-class global command center function.   Ensures physical security operations emergency response programs and physical security systems are integrated with SCC processes.   Partners with all parts of the company to develop long-term and short-term plans for incident monitoring/management to minimize event impacts to personnel and the businesses. Supports the travel risk management program through the development and driving implementation of best practices, initiatives, awareness programs, personnel security and related strategies.


  • Develops the strategy, vision and standards for the SCC and oversees the implementation of the program to ensure a responsible level of functionality for a world-class global command center.
  • Leads overviews and tours of the SCC to familiarize personnel, executive leadership, suppliers and the community with the SCC resources and mission.  Provides demonstrations of the technical systems, software and applications of the SCC that support minimizing risks for Takeda.
  • Provides briefings to leadership and security management regarding situational awareness for events and incidents that may impact or are currently impacting Takeda.
  • Conducts assessments and audits of SCC activities, develops and maintains metrics for measuring program success, reports findings and anticipates and implements changes in strategy, as appropriate and to ensure effectiveness.
  • Develops and maintains the global incident management program for detection and mitigation of risks and threats and collaborates with functions across the organization that are responsible for risk and intelligence.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of processes to notify personnel and management of risks and threats that may impact personnel, facilities and/or business operations.
  • Administrates key components of TravelSafe – Takeda’s travel risk management program –including tracking and alerting travelers, updating program communications from internal intranets to internal social media, maintaining operational procedures, travel restrictions, expatriate services and safety checks and responses. Helps prepare and deliver higher risk travel threat assessments, risk mitigation strategies and briefings.
  • Partners with the Security and Intelligence team and the Security Operations team to provide one global standard duty of care for Takeda travelers. Participates as an active core member in the Travel Safety Council. 
  • Responsible for all aspects of service delivery and performance of the SCC, including contract staff, coordination with the SCC contract Supervisor, and questions/concerns about any services provided by the SCC.
  • Develops and oversees progressive support programs that emphasize customer service, professionalism, and dependability.  Develops and establishes processes to identify, track, escalate, resolve and report customer-related issues.
  • Proposes recommendations on annual budgets for personnel, applications, services and other expenditures necessary for the SCC and incident management missions.  This includes operating and capital budgets.  Tracks all expenditures and provides accruals on approved budgets and resources.
  • Selects, tests, pilots, develops and implements cutting edge security communications tools for the dissemination/collection of information to/from Takeda personnel, to include electronic, social media, and internet based-tools. 
  • Develops, implements, and delivers training programs for SCC personnel.  Facilitates table top and hands on tests and exercises for the SCC and leads After Action Reviews around any significant events and incidents.
  • Develops and maintains internal and external stakeholder and service provider relationships


  • Bachelor’s degree required; criminal justice, security management, emergency management or business preferred
  • 5 or more years experience in any combination of physical security, personnel security, and command center operations.
  • Technical background with understanding or hands on experience in physical security systems, geographical information systems, mass communication software, incident and dispatch, records management software, and related software systems.
  • Ability to lead and motivate people within a matrix organization and lead without authority
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, monitor and evaluate a comprehensive security program.
  • Demonstrated analytical expertise, close attention to detail, excellent critical thinking and ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Ability to work independently in fast paced local and global environments.  On call 24x7 for support of issues escalated by the SCC team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, leadership presence and the ability to articulate concepts to all levels of personnel and leadership.

  • Willingness to travel to various meetings, training or Takeda facilities, including overnight and weekend trips. Some international travel may be required.
