We are currently recruiting for the following position to be located at our corporate headquarters in Belcamp, Maryland.
Security Engineer
Summary:
Under general technical direction from the Lead Systems Security Architect, the Security Engineer carries out all phases of information system/network security programs. Conducts regular audits to ensure that systems and networks are being operated securely, and that information systems security policies and procedures are being implemented as defined in security plans. Conducts investigations of computer security violations and incidents, reporting as necessary to management. Responds to queries and requests for computer security information and reports.
Responsible to actively promote, maintain and validate the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of the organizational information assets in compliance with Company security policies, standards and best practices. Protects data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, destruction, modification, or disruption to access.
Qualification Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, major is required.
Experience:
- 5-7 total years IT experience with demonstrated growth path with 4 of those years specializing in IT Security
Skills:
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Able to promptly isolate security threats on both the internal and external networks.
- Exposure to Oracle E-Business Suite security practices is also preferred.
- Excellent technical documentation skills are also required.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization and planning skills.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP–based directories.
- Basic understanding of PKCS standards.
- Ability to analyze sniffer traces and be able to resolve routing and firewall issues.
- Ability to learn and integrate new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to discover information protection needs
- Define system security requirements
- Assist in design of system security architecture
- Assist in the preparation of Information Security policies and procedures
- Able to develop detailed security design documents
- Implement system and network security
- Assess information protection effectiveness
Licensures, Certifications:
- CISSP
- CISSP
- CCNA
- MCSE
- Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include, but are not limited, to, the following:
Ensures the proper operation of technology applications and equipment.
- Develop security policies, procedures, and change management for network operations and business applications.
- Develop the strategies to deploy effective application internal controls.
- Conducts vulnerability assessments of information systems.
- Performs incident response activities for security events.
- Consults and provides information security expertise in support of various IT projects.
- Respond to security related help desk tickets
- Support Checkpoint and Cisco ASA firewalls
- Analyze Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention logs
- Provide support for SafeNet’s own security products and service: HSM, Luna, HA2000, Protectdrive and others
Resolves technology support issues for employees which may require desk-side assistance.
- Present security status reports and project status to management.
- Performs research and development on Information Security related topics.
· Promote security awareness in the organization.
· Other duties as assigned
