Description of Opportunity:
Working in the Office for Security Operations and Antiterrorism, Security and Investigations professionals direct antiterrorism/force protection support to DIA elements worldwide. They conduct technical security engineering via the Technical Security Countermeasures program. They perform physical and technical security inspections and staff assistance visits for Department of Defense (DoD) sensitive compartmented information (SCI) facilities. They develop and publish DoD and DIA security policy manuals, regulations and handbooks. They expand and oversee DIA’s security education and awareness program. They represent DIA on security policy and awareness committees, including national and DoD workgroups. They manage DIA’s Special Access Program central office, coordinating the administration, security and oversight of all internal and external special programs.
Working in the Personnel Security Division, they determine SCI eligibility for employees and assignees of DIA, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, defense agencies (except the National Security Agency, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, and the National Reconnaissance Office) and DoD field activities. They conduct internal security investigations, including counterintelligence-scope, specific-issue and operations support polygraph examinations. They prepare cases resulting in unfavorable adjudicative decisions for due process, including presentation before the DIA Security Appeals Board and Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals. They manage DIA’s Security Violation program, and act as the focal point for unofficial foreign travel and the agency’s Violence in the Workplace program. They provide security indoctrination and debriefings for access to SCI and validate security clearances and SCI accesses for US government personnel visiting DIA, or for DIA personnel visiting other US government facilities.
Working in the Protective Services Division they provide on-site physical security and protection for personnel, property and information at the Defense Intelligence Analysis Center in Clarendon, VA and in DIA remote sites as needed. They manage life/safety issues for DIA headquarters’ crisis/emergency response program. They oversee the current and future design of DIA physical security systems. They investigate unauthorized entry, suspicious activities and thefts in DIA facilities. They enforce parking regulations and issue tickets as necessary. They provide weapons training to qualified DIA employees, attachés, spouses and support personnel.
