We service the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and Los Angeles Areas. Security Specialists is a professional organization growing at an aggressive rate. SALARY & BENEFITS
- Armed Patrol Officer Trainee
$ 12.60 per Hour to start during 180 day (6 months) introductory period
Note: Pay rate is based on an Armed Patrol Officer that possesses all required licenses/permits and equipment outlined below.
- Unarmed Patrol Officer Trainee
$ 11.00 per Hour to start during 180 day (6 months) introductory period
Patrol Officer is in a Trainee position and on introductory status for the 1st 180 days (6 months) of employment. After your 180 day introductory period you must have all the required licenses/permits and equipment.
Initial Licenses/Permits and Equipment Requirements:
> Drivers License (statutory, minimum of 3 years driving record)
> Guard Card License (statutory from the 1st day of employment)
> Pepper Spray Permit
> Baton Permit
> Firearms Permit (Must be in process with the state within the 1st 30 days of hire date)
> Valid First Aid & CPR
> All Basket weave equipment (please see attached list for a detailed outline)
We provide financial assistance through our in-house loan program to obtain Licenses/Permits.
Salary increases are normally granted based on job performance, promotions, length of service and scheduled reviews outlined below. During each Review, based on your performance you will get an automatic salary step increase.
Scheduled Reviews and Raises
After 1st 180 day introductory period 2.5 % Increase
Annual Reviews 2.5 % Increase
After your 180 day introductory period you will be eligible for;
-P.O.S.T. (Police Officer Standard Training) 832 p.c. (Modules 1 & 3) certification
-Health Benefits including Medical, Dental & Vision (see Health Benefits for details)
-Applying to available promotions/positions such as Corporal (Field Training Officer).
-Additional Raises, Benefits and Annual Bonus Programs.
ADDITIONAL SALARY INCREASES
5% Above Hourly for Administration pay
10% Above Hourly for Hazard pay
20% Above Hourly for Rewards pay
10% increase for Lead Officer pay
10% increase for Corporal pay
15% increase for Senior Lead Officer pay
20% increase for Sergeant LI pay
Patrol teams normally work 8.5 Hour shifts (with lunch) 5 days a Week and typically have 2 consecutive days off. Overtime (at time and a half) is regularly available.
Patrol Coverage is 24 Hours per day, 7 days a Week with the following Shifts:
Regular Patrol Shifts: Days 07:00 - 15:30, Swings 15:00 - 23:30 and Graveyard 23:30 - 08:00
Intermediate Patrol Shifts: 11:30 - 20:00, 20:00 - 04:30 (other shifts may also be available).
Excellent health, dental and vision plans are available for Patrol Officers and their eligible family members/domestic partners. Security Specialists contributes large percentages to all base and personalized plans.
Officers receive a total of 10 holidays paid at time and a half each year.

- Sales commissions paid for Referrals or assistance with bringing in new clientele (even with simply passing out a business card).
