What you will do


A Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert and processes inspections as needed.  Alleviates concerns the customer may have regarding a security system.  Advises customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections.


How you will do it

  • Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.

  • Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.

  • Read blueprints, building, electrical and sprinkler plans in order to complete equipment repairs.

  • Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.

  • Coordinate inspections with our customers to meet inspection standards

  • Installing and troubleshooting of Card Access Systems, CCTV, IP Cameras

  • Repair and program commercial alarm systems.

  • Process and complete assigned work orders.

  • Problem solve alarm systems’ issues.

  • Rewire alarm panels.

  • Replace transmitters on doors and/or windows.

  • Strip wires, ground faults and tamper switches.

  • Drive to service call locations.

  • Examine systems to locate problems such as loose connections or broken insulation.

  • Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning, and to diagnose malfunctions.

  • Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and/or video cameras, and attach electrical and telephone wiring in order to connect components.

  • Install, maintain or repair security systems, alarm devices, and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.

  • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals, in order to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.

  • Feed cables through access holes, roof spaces, and cavity walls to reach fixture outlets; then position and terminate cables, wires and strapping.

  • Adjust sensitivity of units based on room structures and manufacturers’ recommendations, using programming keypads.

  • Test and repair circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications.

  • Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, and floors.

  • Demonstrate systems for customers, and explain details such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.

  • Prepare documents such as invoices.

  • Utilize computer keyboard and mouse to program security software.

  • Exposure to Low Voltage electricity.

What we look for:


  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • CCTV/Card Access/IP Camera experience


  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Some college preferred

  • Nicet Certification preferred
