Unprecedented demand from our clients has created the need to hire an experienced IT consultant to fulfill the role of a Security Systems Integration and Implementation Engineer.  Below is the description for this position.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
 
The candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will be responsible for:
·         Ensuring that information system (IS) security designs implement appropriate security features as outlined in security client policy and security best practices;
·         Ensuring that changes to existing ISs provide equal or improved effectiveness of the security features already existing on the IS and are consistent with Intelligence Community (IC) policy;
·         Conducting commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) market surveys, proof of concepts, selection, system integration testing (to include the development of test plans and procedures, requirements, and design documents), pilots, and operational implementation of product solutions;
·         Participating as part of a design team to identify and engineer security solutions, using industry and IC best practices during the development process;
·         Developing technical documentation for successful transition of COTS solutions to operational status;
·         Providing Tier 3 support to other operational frameworks and solving complex technical problems.
 
This position is for someone who has an Excellent knowledge of IP networking and networking protocols and an understanding of security-related technologies, including encryption, IPSec, PKI, VPNs, firewalls, proxy services, DNS electronic mail, and access lists;
Thorough understanding of network and operational security best practices;
Good knowledge of internet technology, web, MS Windows server 2000/2003 or Solaris 8/10, database applications, and network security techniques;
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
 




Education, Certifications:  MS + 7 years of experience /BS + 13 years of experience
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI NSA clearance with Lifestyle polygraph

  • Must meet contract level requirements for appropriate position.

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Information Systems with 7 years of experience, or a combination of education and demonstrated experience equivalent, in the IS security field.

  • The candidate should possess CCNA or MCSE certification and at least one of the following industry certifications in accordance with DoD8570.1-M or will obtain the certification within 6 months of starting on the contract:CCNA, GSEC, CISM, CISSP, and/or ISSEP.

  • Must be able to successfully interface with Government Information Assurance (IA) personnel to exchange ideas, negotiate approach, and explain difficult technical concepts in a manner that nontechnical personnel can understand.

  • Experience with the design, implementation, and administration in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

  1. Enterprise security boundary protection

  2. Encryption and authentication mechanisms, and solutions such as Firewall, VPN, SSL, and Advanced Proxy design and administration;

  3. Enterprise security management solutions, such as Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS), Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS), and Audit & Monitoring;

  4. Enterprise database and cross-domain solutions such as secure one-way-transfer, oracle, and MySQL design and administration.
