Semantic Software Developer/Systems Engineer

This position will support the development of semantic based solutions for commercial clients in the Central and North Florida areas primarily as well as the Southeast region; however, some travel to other customers in the United States may be required. This position requires working with customers to understand customer issues and leveraging a small team to determine the right semantic solution. The candidate should possess leadership and project management skills to report the status of the project to the customer and to company management.

The position will integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software with developed web services to create custom solutions for our clients, and will manage the customer expectations and perceptions of the solution, while notifying company management of the progress including issues that jeopardize the successful and timely completion of the project. The ideal candidate will have exposure working with vendors to successfully customize COTS software.

Required qualifications:

• Strong experience developing and implementing information technology solutions; experience developing and implementing semantic based solutions is preferred
  
• 3 - 5 years experience developing Web Services, programming with object oriented and/or declarative languages and working with XML technologies (XSL, XQuery, XPath, etc.)
  
• 1 - 2 years exposure to semantic technologies, Semantic Web (Web 3.0) concepts and technologies; strong working knowledge of Resource Description Framework (RDF), Web Ontology Language (OWL), and/or similar standards
  
• 2 - 3 years experience developing web-based solutions using HTML, CSS, Javascript (including libraries and frameworks like YUI), J2EE, JSP, Struts, JSF, and JSON
  
• Exposure to Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle 11g, Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL
  
• Proficiency in Windows, Linux and Unix
  
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent

  Experience with Web 2.0 technologies/methodologies such as AJAX, RSS, Microformats, wikis, social tagging, and social networking

  Knowledge of web development languages such as Ruby on Rails, PHP, and Python

  U.S. citizenship and willingness to obtain a DoD security clearance
