This role is on-site in our Des Moines, Iowa headquarters and reports to our Client Services Director. You will coordinate on client work with an Account Director who will likely be in the field (East or West Coast). This position will collaborate with other functional department team members in Des Moines (creative/production, market insights/data analytics, business operations) to implement projects and programs.
Key Accountabilities
Industry Experience
• Experience in a marketing communications firm or marketing environment (agency, consulting firm or client-side).
• Bachelors degree from a four-year college
• Pharmaceutical or healthcare background highly preferred.
• Overall 7+ years of experience for Sr. Account Manager role.
Project Experience
• Demonstrates understanding of more complex marketing programs - involving multiple channels and moving parts (different mediums like data-driven direct mail, email, mobile, interactive, etc.).
• Some experience in working with data to drive programs - targeting, direct mail lists, database development, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large projects and keep people and tasks on track day to day - experience with a structured project management system or project management certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills, results-oriented, and manages details well.
• Takes initiative to run projects well and meets KPIs.
Interpersonal Skills/Communication Skills
• Has actively managed and lead implementation with project teams (day-to-day activities).
• Has had client-facing day-to-day role (understands how to set and manage expectations with clients, how to manage conflict, positive issue management strategies).
• Same communication skills demonstrated aptly internally as well.
• Demonstrated ability to hold people accountable for delivering work on time and on budget at a quality level that promotes client satisfaction.
• Comfortable with all Microsoft Office computer programs - adept at using PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated ability to craft "storylines" in presentations and other written and verbal communication.
• Ability to coordinate well long-distance with both clients and Account Director. Virtual team experience a plus.
Financial Skills/Process/System Orientation
• Has managed budgets for campaigns or projects of a minimum of $750,000 annual budget.
• Understands how to estimate projects, maintain budgets and timelines.
• Has a personal process or has used a system for tracking budgets and timelines.
• Understands the concept of program measurement and is comfortable with the practice (developing benchmarks, adjusting programs to achieve greater response, etc).
