Senior Accountant

Very well-established, cash-rich company in Bethesda is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. The group works closely together and someone who enjoys a team environment yet is comfortable working independently will be a good fit. As the Senior Accountant you will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepare Financial Statements on a quarterly basis.

  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger

  • Account for transactions

  • Monitor cash flow on a weekly basis, including sweep accounts

  • Recommend, when applicable, strategies to enhance return on overnight deposits

  • Work with external tax accountants on tax strategy

  • In conjunction with management team’s projections, prepare annual budget.

  • Review budget assumptions on quarterly basis and revise forecasts where necessary

  • Ad hoc analytical projects including review of new investment opportunities

 

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting and be working towards a CPA. You will have 3 – 5 years of experience in public and/or corporate accounting and be used to juggling multiple priorities. You will also enjoy and embrace learning new things and adding to your already strong accounting and finance background. BS in Accounting required, CPA preferred.
