Senior Accountant

Essential Job Functions

• Analyzes current accounting processes and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements, including standardization of accounting methods and procedures.
• Ensures financial statements are prepared in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Responsible for maintaining the standard chart of accounts.
• Part of a team that is responsible for month end close, including preparing journal entries for multiple entities, account reconciliation, preparing consolidated financial statements using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
• Responsible for helping drive transaction process improvements in AP, AR, and Payroll.
• Reporting liaison with Corporate Controlling, Tax, Treasury, and Insurance groups and fulfilling their reporting requirements.
• Part of a team that is responsible for meeting internal and and external audit requirements, compliance reporting, including government surveys and tax reporting (Sales & Use, Property Tax, Corporate Tax), and fixed asset management, including coordination of physical inventory in conjunction with local site control, maintenance of FAS database, monthly CIP reporting, and property tax reporting.
• Provide support and direction to internal customers and suppliers regarding improvement of their processes and their ability to provide accurate and timely inputs to transactional processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• CPA, CMA or MBA preferred but not required
• 5+ years combined experience in public accounting and industry experience in manufacturing
• Knowledge of HFM and JDE or similar system a plus
