Our client, a boutique investment firm located in downtown Chicago is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong MS Access Database skills. This position will be 60% database and reporting creation, which requires experience developing databases from scratch and designing them for future growth in unexpected ways. The accounting is fairly standard, and will be very automated. Experience designing, creating, and populating Access or SQL databases is very critical as well as the creation of the input forms and related reporting tools (Namely Crystal Reports). This position will actively participate in daily transaction complexities. Monitor daily cash position and borrows and pays down on inter-company loans to support daily transaction requirements. Execution of month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will also work closely with the loan operations teams to maintain data integrity and accuracy. Finally, this role will work to develop reporting and databases to facilitate data integrity and efficiencies. This role will report to the Controller. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required or equivalent education and experience. CPA certification is preferred. Must have comprehensive knowledge and experience with month-end close process. Extensive excel knowledge including understanding of complex formulas is required. Ability to improve and create databases is essential. MS Access is a must have for this position.
