Senior Accountant
An opening exists for a Senior Accountant in the corporate accounting department for a large international company here in the Delaware market. A growing company with a great history and a very progressive work culture located right off the train in Wilmington. This position will be highly visible to corporate finance leaders and will involve analytical and technical accounting knowledge necessary to determine how business maneuvers and transactions affect the financial statements.
Responsibilities:
-Perform corporate accounting functions as a member of the Controller's Corporate Accounting Team.
-Be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual closing responsibilities such journal entry preparation, costing, balance sheet review and analysis.
-Monitor general ledger transactions to determine that they have been recorded in accordance with GAAP in order to maintain the integrity of the financial statements.
-Ensure compliance with internal controls, including SOX 404.
-Preparation and support of the financial reporting process for management and external reporting needs.
Requirements (applicants should meet the following):
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA/Master’s degree.
-3 to 7 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or large corporate accounting experience.
-Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
-Experience performing and/or reviewing monthly accounting responsibilities, including month-end close process.
