The Senior Storage Administrator is responsible for and assists in managing daily SYSTEM storage and backups/restore operations. This includes day-to-day monitoring of storage, performance monitoring, storage allocation and backups/restores for an enterprise environment consisting of Linux, AIX, Windows, VMWARE and HP-UX servers.
Qualified candidates must have:
• 7+ years professional experience working as Storage Administrator.
• 3+years professional experience working with backup applications, such as NetVault, TSM and Veritas required. Highly desired is the in-house tool CommVault.
• SYSTEM tuning and capacity planning activities geared towards meeting specified Service Levels.
• Experience with configuring and maintaining Enterprise Storage Arrays Required (IBM DS4000, DS5000, and DS8000 Series). EMC CLARiiON, Dell NAS and HP EVA knowledge a plus.
• 4+ years experience in the configuration, monitoring and zoning of Fiber Directors/Switches of any type is required (In house are CISCO MDS 9000 series and Brocade and experience with these products is highly desired).
• Strong knowledge of LUN masking and storage provisioning.
• Experience with various tape libraries required(IBM, ADIC, StorageTek, DELL, HP).
• Experience with Storage virtualization. (IBM SAN Volume Controller).
• Experience with SAN implementations with a variety of operating Systems and databases including Redhat Linux, AIX, HP-UX Windows Server, VMWARE, SQL, DB2 and Oracle.
• BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline required, practical or equivalent experience can be substituted for degree
