Our client is currently seeking a Database Administrator for its St. Louis Facility.  This position will coordinates physical changes to computer databases; and codes, tests, and implements physical database by performing the following duties.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

*Designs logical and physical databases or reviews description of changes to database design to understand how changes to be made affect physical database (how data is stored in terms of physical characteristics such as location, amount of space, and access method).

*Establishes physical database parameters.

*Codes database descriptions and specifies identifiers of database to database management system or directs others in coding database descriptions.

*Calculates optimum values for database parameters such as amount of computer memory to be used by database.

*Specifies user access level for each segment of one or more data items such as insert, replace, retrieve, or delete data.

*Specifies which users can access databases and what data can be accessed by user.

*Tests and corrects errors, and refines changes to database.

*Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database performance such as distribution of records and amount of available memory.

*Directs programmers and analysts to make changes to database management system..

*Trains users.

*Confers with co-workers to determine impact of database changes on other systems and staff cost for making changes to database.

*Modifies database programs to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning.

*Installing, upgrading, and supporting Oracle Applications and Database software and the associated Oracle

*Technology stack in a multi-tier RAC environment including: database server, applications server, web server, concurrent processing server, reports server, forms server, admin server, and discoverer server.

*Provide proactive maintenance of the databases and consistent monitoring of databases to ensure optimal performance

*Provide ongoing assessments of database growth and space requirements, utilizing tools and software to reorganize files as needed.

*Design, Implementation, Validation, and Management of a Database Backup Strategy (RMAN).

*Create an operational relationship with the remote DBA services to maintain 24/7 monitoring and project delivery.

*Execution of Database Backup/Recovery Strategy utilizing RMAN.

*Prepare status reports on database projects.

*Provide Audit/Security data to support SOX.

*Support, troubleshoot application/database errors.

*Support end-user community with oracle related issues.

*Research new technologies to enhance business processes.

*Administer all Production change control.

*Maintain and administer Deltek, KABA, Relex, MatrixOne, Primavera, PROE systems.

*Disaster Recovery utilizing DataGuard.

*Manage/setup Virtualization.
