Senior Associate Director, Pet Professional Services


 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) with a minimum of one year veterinary practice experience is required

  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience

  • Previous veterinary industry experience, including a minimum of seven years experience in an animal health related position

  • Demonstrated strong leadership, negotiation and project management skills

  • Excellent analytical, communication, creativity and organization/planning skills

  • INTERNAL CANDIDATES

  • Max Plan rating of MET EXPECTATIONS for past 3 years of Company employment

  • No discipline in Personnel File

  • Not currently on Performance Improvement Plan

  • Must have 6 months in current job

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to Professional Services team members to ensure sales and marketing goals are met through alignment of professional services team and sales force

  • Ensures that the department is staffed with qualified personnel. Works with HRBP to recruit and select applicants from a pool of qualified candidates to ensure all allocated positions are filled. Effectively administers salary and reward programs. Coach to, develop, motivate and monitors team members' performance, to include: actionable Max Plans, provide regular feedback, and conduct timely Max Plan reviews. Identify performance challenges, create action plans and monitor the effectiveness of these actions plan. Ensures active development plans and required technical knowledge of personnel

  • Chair/lead cross-functional teams involving Marketing, Sales, etc., actively soliciting team expertise and ensure execution of all marketing strategic and tactical sales activities

  • Effectively manage expenses and direct team members to invest in activities that provide highest value to customers and yield the largest ROI

  • Completes Special Projects as assigned by the Company

  • Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures.  When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management.  Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIVI's excellent reputation within the animal health community and internally

  • Proven track record as a successful leader, manager, and people developer

  • A solid scientific foundation with a clear understanding of the dynamics of small animal disease and treatment protocols are required in order to provide exceptional technical support to internal and external customers

  • Solid interpersonal and group communication skills are required in order to build strong relationships with internal and external customers and stakeholders

  • Proven successful public speaking and presentation skills are mandatory as delivery of effective presentations is a major job function

  • A clear understanding of the animal health pharmaceutical industry, veterinary sales channels, and veterinary distribution is necessary to provide exceptional customer support and internal leadership
