Senior Bridge Engineer

THE NEED

We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to manage and direct the design of bridge projects in Iowa. The successful candidate for the Senior Bridge Engineer position will be responsible for:

• Project management, analysis, and design of interchange, grade separation, and waterway bridge projects,
• Prepare reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental studies, and designs for projects,
• Client interface, business development, and personnel management,
• Evaluate need for design changes and make appropriate recommendations.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate for the Senior Bridge Engineer position will meet the following requirements:

• A minimum of 10 years of stable related experience with bridge project development and design, along with working knowledge of State DOT projects and agencies (knowledge of Iowa DOT a plus),
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural design,
• A current Iowa PE, or the ability to obtain a Iowa PE within 6 months,  
• Excellent organizational, mentoring, and communications skills,
• Knowledge of AASHTO design methods, standards, and specifications, and LRFD design software including RCPier, MDX, Conspan or similar would be a plus.
