Senior Business Analyst * AEC Plant Solutions
pay rate : $48-50 per hour W2 - or quote your lowest best rate.
Duration : 6+ months
Location : San Rafael, CA
Your Role:
The Senior BA acts as an intermediary between market and customer needs, end user needs, and software development needs by working with Plant Solutions customers, Product Management, Product Design, Software Development and Test Design to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation (using appropriate tools and models) from which application solutions are developed.
The Senior BA is responsible for consulting with the business to understand its business goals and objectives, working with key project stakeholders and business people to formulate and communicate the business vision for the project, map out requirements and the scope of the project, and resolve conflicting requirements as part of the process.
The Senior BA identifies business process improvement opportunities, and formulates and recommends solutions that meet the business needs. The Senior BA is an active participant in all phases of the project lifecycle and will be required to work closely with a variety of internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented and met.
Tasks:
Through a combination of strong business understanding, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and excellent interviewing and facilitating techniques, the BA will:
* Identify, document and validate functional user requirements for system developments and maintenance through the use of appropriate business analysis techniques (interviews, JAD sessions, research, prototyping, etc.)
* Deliver quality business requirements that guide the development of technology solutions in support of stated business objectives
* Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers and subject matter experts to elicit, capture, analyze and document business and user requirements,
* Use relevant modeling techniques to deliver and maintain detailed business requirements and SDLC analysis artifacts (including UI prototypes, use cases, state diagrams, etc.) as needed
* Identify and clearly communicate project issues and risks, and effectively recommend the most appropriate solutions and mitigations
* Provide input to planning decisions, monitoring and reporting any changes in requirements
* Manage and report status of business analysis progress against project plan
* Work with Test Design to complete testing, implementation and communication plans for new or modified software solutions and product options
* Perform post-implementation testing, monitoring, and reporting to ensure functionality
* Review product updates for functionality impacts or enhancements and coordinates changes with the technical team
* Ensure quality delivery/implementation of applications and process change along with appropriate communication for integration into business unit operations
* Help business partners in identifying and clarifying their goals and requirements
* Assist in negotiating and building consensus among stakeholders
* Monitor industry activities and identify and recommend potential solutions
* Lead the conceptual phase of product releases
* Identify opportunities to improve current processes and to act as a champion to change within the requirements management profession
* Participate in the development of user documentation and manuals, training material, and/or job aids
Experience/Education
University degree/college diploma, preferably in Business
Four to six years progressive business analysis experience, supporting medium to large-size projects
Explicit business knowledge in the Software/High Tech industry
