Senior Business Analyst
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for analysis, requirements capture and testing of functionality developed by the Cash, Compliance, Fixed Income and Trading Information Technology group internally as well as with preferred vendors. The analyst will develop successful working business relationships with our global users in Compliance, Portfolio Management and Trading. The candidate will develop strong relationships with Information Technology colleagues and support the development of the technical design and development of trading and compliance platforms to ensure they meet the business needs. Within this role, the candidate will be expected to contribute to continuous improvement and proactively support knowledge sharing with the team. The incumbent will assist in shaping the technology strategy and planning with our Business counterparts.
Candidate should have 7 to 10 years of experience in creating business requirements, functional requirements, test scenarios and cases, as well as project management skills. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Analyst with previous front office experience. This role requires an excellent understanding of investment business processes and experience maintaining and supporting investment applications. To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess strong business analyst and project management skills.
A detailed knowledge and understanding of a wide range of asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income and Derivatives is instrumental.
Candidate Responsibilities
Candidate Qualification and Competencies:
· Strong business and technical knowledge.
· Experience with order management, compliance and portfolio management applications (LatentZero Capstone preferred).
· Buy-side experience preferred.
· Possess securities industry experience, preferably across multiple asset classes at a major financial institution or investment management firm.
· The ability to work effectively in a global, high performing team environment.
· International experience is highly desirable.
· Demonstrated project skills and experience in phases of system development life cycle along with experience in defining, implementing, and supporting investment business solutions.
· Demonstrated working closely and successfully with demanding business users in support team.
· Excellent project work skills, including testing and implementation.
· Ability to build test plans for implementation by the development team.
· Strong communication and organisational skills.
· Ability to influence management and build credibility across the organization.
· Ability to think conceptually, translate plans into actionable steps and follow the steps through to completion.
· Ability to effectively develop project plans and manage projects.
· An individual with strong personal ownership and the ability to resolve issues independently.
· Outstanding leadership and people management skills.
· Thorough working knowledge of MS Office and candidates with advanced skills in Excel, Visual Basic and MS Project given preference. SQL querying tools and Oracle experience preferred.
