Saks Fifth Avenue is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for our service center in Jackson, Mississippi.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the .com Contact Center and the Risk/Support department. The primary responsibility is to obtain data and then analyze the data for business opportunities. Other responsibilities include: identifying technical business solutions, writing requirements, leading system implementation efforts and supporting various systems used by the departments.

The work will vary greatly, depending on the business needs, so this individual needs to be highly adaptive, creative and able to learn quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analysis

§         Obtain data: pull complex queries from multiple sources.

§         Analyze large set of data to determine opportunities for improvement of fraud risk strategies.

§         Perform analysis of other data. This could include sales data, customer data, contact data, etc.

§         Present comprehensive, well thought-out business solutions accompanied by relevant ROI/NPV supporting documentation.

§         Manage large sets of data, frequently validating the integrity of the data.

Business Analysis/Project Management

§         Identify potential areas where business processes/policies/procedures require change to increase efficiency, effectiveness and/or maximize sales opportunities.

§         Assist with the selection of new tools: analyze business needs, write user requirements, and validate potential solutions/approaches.

§         Implement and manage products/projects through to post implementation.

Reporting and System Maintenance

§         Create and maintain management reporting.

§         Provide technical support, expertise and knowledge to various departments.

§         Support and manage a variety of systems as they are implemented.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

§         Highly advanced proficiency with relational databases (SQL, MySQL, Oracle)

§         Software applications: minitab, Excel, Access, Visio

§         Familiarity with basic statistical methods and techniques, including proper formulation of regression models and interpretation of regression analysis results.

§         Expertise in utilizing Internet and advanced research skills to gather information from public and private databases and news services.

§         Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.

§         General understanding of fraud mitigation tactics for .com retailers.

§         Proven ability to synthesize data into relevant business insights and forward-looking strategies.

§         Proven ability to formulate practical solutions for loosely-defined business problems/objectives.

§         Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.

§         Highly self motivated with demonstrated ability to take initiative.

§         Ability to work independently, set own priorities and multi-task.

§         Must possess the drive to figure out how things work and be naturally curious.

EXPERIENCE

§         5 years of experience working in an analytical, programming or MIS function in an operations environment, preferably in an internet or retail company.
