Summary:

This position provides an integrated approach to achieving and supporting sales revenue acquisition efforts for global markets.  Charged to develop, implement, maintain, and monitor the operational policies, procedures, and systems required for the support, guidance, and execution of the Sales Organization's duties.

 

General Job Duties:

  • Pricing & Policy: Research & update pricing group classifications in support of renewal & new sales for the Americas, EMEA, & APAC. This work is supporting nearly 300 million in IHS Revenue. 
  • Sales Revenue & Activity Results: Analyze data requirements, design & create sales operations revenue & activity reports. This work is supporting approx 154 million in current revenue and an additional 8 - 10 million in new revenue for 2010.
  • Marketplace Intelligence: Identify, Analyze, Evaluate Customer data; research, identify & provide sales prospect & market segmentation data.
  • Continual Process Improvement & Change Management:  Build Consensus among groups, lead change management, & redundancy reduction efforts.  Lead requirements identification, & solution implementation as related to: IT development needs for new & existing processes.
  • Support & Training: Support the sales force operational needs; design & conduct sales operations communication updates, and sales operations training.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Requires an undergraduate degree in business, or a related field, an advanced degree is a plus.
  • At least five (5) years experience in business, (Oil & Gas or Energy industry preferred), with an emphasis on business analysis, pricing, sales, & marketing.
  • Previous sales experience is favorable. 
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of statistical analysis; with a background in operational analysis, process management, or workflow evaluation, and a minimum of twelve (12) months of Company experience. 
  • A demonstrated understand & proficiency in working with Company Pricing Policies and Procedures; and a working knowledge of IHS Energy's Sales Operations and Finance policies, procedures, and systems.

 

Other skills:

·          Strong verbal, written, & interpersonal communication skills are a must; including the ability to lead cross-functional teams, and develop business reports.

·          Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze business reports; including, but not limited to SEC documents.

·          A background in process management and workflow evaluation is a plus.

·          The ability to facilitate meetings and work as a project lead is desired.

·          Must be proficient working in MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, & MS Project; Access, SharePoint software VBA is a major plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

·          Candidates must have a valid driver's license and passport, and available for possible travel, (Typically less than 5%).
