Responsibilities:
- Assume ownership for the identification, development and refinement of departmental analytics and metrics
- Manage and mine datasets from numerous sources and transform this information into actionable business insights
- Develop predictive statistical models leveraging demographic and competitive data for macro applications including projecting new club sales and micro applications such as gauging product/item level potential
- Serve as partner to Merchandising Division by delivering actionable add-value analytics which leverage data from a variety of sources
- Serve as an expert in matters related to competitive intelligence and conduct primary and secondary research to preemptively define future developmental activity in the Club, Supercenter and Grocery Channels
- Serve as primary liaison with Operational personnel to centralize field intelligence and generate reports on competitive trends to be disseminated to a wide audience up to executive level
- Additional tasks/responsibilities will be assigned as needed
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of analytics or market research experience preferably in a retail setting
- Bachelors degree in economics, mathematics, marketing, geography or related field; Master’s preferred
- Strong working knowledge SAS, VBA and statistical methods required (including regression analysis)
- Experience leveraging demographic, census and POS data
- Excellent command of the MS Office Suite
- Site location Research or GIS strategy experience a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate, lead teams, facilitate meetings, and motivate and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to “think outside the box” in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Periodic field research required (5-10%)
