The Senior Buyer drives to lowest Total Cost of acquisition. Analyzes the requirements of the commodity including technical specifications and solicits and evaluates proposals. Captures and analyze global data needed to create/support strategy development. Advises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be selected. Manages supplier relationships assuring all SIGARMS goals and supplier performance metrics are met or exceeded. Supports resolution of supplier non-conformance issues with QA according to company policies and procedures. Uses MRP/ERP system to maintain timely control of Purchase Orders and other order management activities. Negotiates Purchasing Contracts including terms and conditions that comply with company policies and government regulations.

Experience/Skill Requirements:
10+ years Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment. Excellent communication skills, high assertiveness and initiative. Metal forming and plastic molding commodity experience. APICS or CPM certification a plus along with Lean manufacturing and 6 sigma knowledge. Global sourcing experience and forging long term supplier relationships and analytical, Problem Solving, and project leadership skills. Ability to work effectively in a multi-national and team environment. MRP/ERP system knowledge. Oracle experience preferred.

Education/Training Requirements:
BS Degree in Business Administration or Engineering
