HDIS is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our growing Purchasing Department. In this role, you will perform a variety of purchasing responsibilities including conducting vendor and product research, cost analysis and making recommendations, soliciting and evaluating vendor bids, negotiating pricing terms and assisting the Director of Purchasing with vendor and contract negotiations and management. In addition, you will share responsibility for inventory management, provide assistance and back-up support for the buying function, issue/expedite orders as needed and assist with the product change process by gathering and providing accurate information and coordinating inventory changes as needed.
Finally, your overall communication skills will be challenged in this role. As you will not only work with vendors, but will be working closely with the Director of Purchasing and various other task or work groups (e.g., PSCM, PIFPIT) representing the Purchasing Department. You will also be responsible for Vendor Performance Reviews and addressing customer product complaints and work with all involved parties to resolve the issues.
HDIS is seeking individuals who possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, offers an organized approach to providing timely, accurate reports, can multi-task, prioritize, and is proficient in MS Access or database query.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive Purchasing or related experience
· Ability to operate a PC; working knowledge of MS Office Suite and computerized purchasing and/or inventory system
· High School education with some college and/or continuing education. Prefer a college degree in Business, Economics, Supply/Inventory Management or related discipline
· Vendor Contract Negotiations and Management
· Purchasing and Materials Management Software Program
· ISM (APP/CPM) or similar certification
· Access or database query experience
· Knowledge of incontinent or medical supplies a plus
