David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) is looking to add a Senior CAD Designer to its growing Bridge Group. Based in our Olympia office, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing design detailing on large bridge projects. Mentor new and experienced detailers in steel detailing practices and standards. Create sheet lists and detailing estimates for large and small projects. Responsible for producing full set of working drawings using CAD on major bridge structures. Drawings consist of layouts, working drawings, drawings for permits and detail sheets for new bridges, rehabilitation, and emergency repair projects.

Other duties include:

• Resolve bridge project design issues.


• Serve as principal design/drafting point of contact for the Project Manager on bridge projects.


• Manage engineering design within schedule and quality expectations established by contract and industry standards.

Qualifications: 

• Associates Degree in Drafting and Design Technology or related field


• 5+ years of experience in the in bridge design


• Must be organized, detail-oriented, and work well under tight deadlines


• Experience working in team-based environments


• Highly proficiency in AutoCAD
