Job Purpose: 


A Senior Data Warehouse Architect focused on the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the Corporate Data Warehouse. Utilizes data architecture, SOA and ETL methodologies along with various tools to meet the Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management information delivery and reporting/dashboarding requirements of the enterprise. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 



  • Serves as the expert and authority driving innovative data warehouse design and deliverables

  • Responsible for ETL Process, data modeling

  • SQL query optimization and database fine tuning

  • Defining and modeling data lifecycles

  • Working on multiple projects with a high degree of complexity and interdependence.

  • Continually reviews and suggests improvement to the Data Architecture / Data Warehouse processes, policies, and vision and explores new and emerging technologies

  • Responsible for the overall plans to initiate and pursue continuous data quality improvements

  • Collaborates with business units and data owners to successfully implement and maintain an enterprise level business analytics and data warehousing solution.

  • Identifies and promotes best practices for data modeling within information areas across the product suite, providing oversight for all activities related to data cleansing, data quality and data consolidation using industry standard data modeling methods and processes

Internal Responsibilities: 



  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to those identified within the Standards of Business Conduct and the Employee Handbook, as may be amended from time to time.

  • Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations and the company's governance/compliance program.

  • Responsible for reporting violations of the company's policies and procedures, Standards of Business Conduct, governance program, laws and regulations through the company's Help Line or other mechanism that may be available at the time of the violation.

  • Assists with internal control failure remediation efforts.

  • Becomes knowledgeable of internal control responsibilities through training and instruction.

  • Responsible and accountable for internal control performance within their area of responsibility.

  • Participates in the internal controls self-assessment process.

  • Ensures concerns with internal control design or performance and process changes that impact internal control execution are communicated to management. 

Minimum Knowledge, Competencies & Qualifications:



  • 6 years experience with Data Warehousing as the architect on at least 2 enterprise level data warehouse projects using the Kimball methodology

  • 5 years experience with one or more ETL tools, Cognos Data Manager and or SQL Server Integration Services is a plus

  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) enterprise service bus concepts TIBCO and or Microstrategy is a plus

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, query optimization, database design and database fine tuning.

  • 3 years experience with Cognos 8 BI, specifically Framework Manager and Transformer

  • Experience with data modeling tools such as Er/Win, Data Architect, Rational Rose

  • Experience with Agile-centered SDLC approach (SCRUM a plus)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to communicate with end users at all levels within the organization

  • Ability to manage complex projects and work independently

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or similar experience/education

Travel: 0 to 10%

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time working at a computer. The position requires the ability to talk or hear and is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The position is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
