The Senior Component Project Engineer supports and leads engineering teams in the successful planning, design, development, and qualification of components for liquid rocket engines and propulsion systems for spacecraft and launch vehicle applications.30% - Provides engineering support for the development of high-performance fluid components. Requires a combination of technical and business skills to specify and implement the incorporation of components into a complex engineering design in a team environment. Writes component specifications, create and maintain accurate flow-down of customer requirements, review supplier documentation and processes.
25% - Supports component development and qualification, including supplier oversight and management. Provides support to supplier for component development and fabrication, including nonconformance resolution. Provides project status at internal and external meetings.
20% - Supports proposal activities for new business acquisition and manages internal research and development efforts.
20% - Support failure investigations to develop fault tree analysis and other investigation tools to ensure execution, resolution and close-out of all action plans.
5% - Conducts performance, technical, risk, quality, cost and other analysis as required in support of trade studies and programs.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline and 5 years of experience. Excellent written and verbal skills and experience working in a team environment are needed. Requires the willingness and ability to travel up to 30%. Experience with propulsion technology development and/or advanced degree are preferred. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.
