Business Risk
The Business Risk ("BR") service area is comprised of professionals that possess competency and experience in the areas of risk management, business and operational processes, internal auditing, financial reporting and other internal controls, and regulatory compliance. Business risk professionals use these skills to assess, analyze, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of governance, financial and operational control processes, offer recommendations to improve operations, and assist clients with enterprise risk and compliance activities.

surrounding Metropolitan area has opportunities for you to become part of their high-quality team that delivers innovative solutions to key Federal clients in audit and accounting, financial management and business process improvement.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
• Understand client's business environment and basic risk management approaches
• Demonstrate a general knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, Deloitte & Touche's products and service lines
• Actively participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions
• Generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo
• Build and nurture positive working relationships with clients with the intention to exceed client expectations
• Facilitate use of technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design and/or implement products and services
• Identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability
• Participate in and actively support
mentoring relationships within practice
Federal Business Risk Senior Consultants must have 7+ years of required skills in one or more of the following capabilities and have experience leading small project teams:
- Performing Federal financial statement audits and/or auditability assessments
- Experience in reviewing, analyzing, validating, and reconciling Federal financial/accounting information
- Knowledge of Federal accounting and transaction process, internal control objectives and generally accepted accounting principles
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 and/or OMB Circular A-123 documentation, testing and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of risk assessment and/or enterprise risk management concepts
- Candidates must be eligible to receive a US Federal security clearance
- Education requirement: BA/BS degree with a concentration in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related field.
Preferred Skills:
• CPA, CFA,
CIA, CISA, or CISSP certification is a plus
• Prior federal consulting experience is a plus
• Demonstrated leadership, problem solving and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Be a self motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
• Candidates that possess an active Federal security clearance
Candidates must reside in the Washington DC metropolitan area and be open to travel
