Region 9 START Contract Emergency Response Environmental Professional (Can be Environmental Geologist, Scientist, Biologist, Chemist, or Environmental Engineer)

Job Location: Long Beach, CA  

Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 annual base salary DOE (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), vacation, holidays, etc.

The Johnson Group Staffing Company, Inc. is a technical staffing company specializing in Engineering & Environmental consulting industry employment opportunities. Our client, a prestigious and global environmental consulting firm actively seeks Environmental Emergency Response Team (EPA START Contract) Environmental Consulting Industry Professionals with a minimum of 2+ years of industry related experience. This environmental professional (environmental scientist, geologist, engineer, or biologist) will join their environmental consulting team in the handling of EPA  START Contract / Superfund Technical Assistance Response Team (Region 9) projects in California.

This environmental professional will be largely involved in the daily operation of the Superfund Technical Assistance and Response team; working along side a unique team of scientists, geologist, chemists and biologists who work exclusively to support the EPA and manage numerous hazardous materials investigations and Homeland protection oriented projects. Professional is required to work out of the firms Long Beach, CA office.

Ideal Qualifications:

*Must have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field.
* Must have a minimum of 3+ years of professional environmental consulting industry work experience
* Must have a minimum of at least 6 months to 1 year of EPA START Contract (Superfund Technical Assessment & Response Team) work project experience (required)
* Familiarity with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) policies and standards
* OSHA40 Hour HAZWOPER training (required)

Additional preferred qualifications:

* Experience preparing of written sampling/work plans, analyzing and presenting data in formal reports
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Knowledge of DOT hazardous materials regulations

* Field chemist experience: ability to take chemistry and apply it in the field on hazardous waste sites.
OR
* Experience writing documents SAP (Sampling analysis plan) or DQO (Data Quality Objective)
