Senior Content Manager

Project Overview: Allyis seeks an experienced Sr. Content Manager to work as part of a dynamic team of editors and producers on a large B2B Web Portal. This individual will work closely with Marketing, the Managing Editor of the Web Portal, and with numerous stakeholders and content providers. Key responsibilities will include strategizing, developing and delivering content to a worldwide audience of corporate partners and business entities. This role requires an individual who combines the skills of a seasoned editor with the organization and tactical execution of an experienced project manager to create the most effective, targeted content and deliver it with power and elegance. Candidates should be extremely organized, motivated individuals with great communication skills and the ability to function successfully in a large, dynamic organization. Responsibilities: - Working with Marketing and content stakeholders to understand business and communication objectives and ensure those objectives are achieved through presentation of content
- Overseeing day-to-day content publishing tasks, including:
- Managing intake process for Web content via a submission form and logging and tracking tasks into team workflow tools
- Coordinating routine publishing tasks between site managers, producers, editors and content stakeholders
- Prioritizing content publishing requests with guidance from Marketing
- Performing quality assurance checks on content before publishing, including reviewing content to ensure all changes have been implemented; reviewing content for errors and accuracy; and verifying links, images, metadata, publish date, and user flows
- Approving content for publishing, with reviews and Marketing and/or content stakeholders as required
- Ensuring site content is published on time according to SLA or schedule
- Adhering to style guidelines for each Web site
- Daily monitoring of the publishing queue
- Escalating conflicts and issues to Marketing as needed
- Managing small to medium Web content projects such as site or section scrubs, or projects related to specific marketing activities
- Work with Marketing and content stakeholders on implementing defined strategy and scope
- Manage projects end to end
- Review and maintain project calendar, keeping status current
- Provide analysis and recommendations in the areas of UI to include but not limited to:
- Navigation and user flows
- Rationale for where/why content is placed and used on the site(s)
- Ad hoc reporting of site metrics as required to include but not limited to:
- Specific campaigns and/or projects
- Site visits
- Click activity
- Other ad hoc tasks related to Web publishing as required
Required Skills: - Deep experience working in a deadline-driven Web publishing environment
- Medium to deep experience working with Web analytics and business intelligence
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience creating and managing schedules
- Experience leading and managing resources to meet deadlines on a regular, tight schedule
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with a variety of content stakeholders across job functions and business groups, and with site teams of site managers, producers and editors
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with ability to proactively communicate deadlines, issues and conflicts
- Ability to manage and follow complex processes
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Solid decision-making and negotiating skills
- Ability to work independently
- Solid understanding of Web user experience including navigation and user flows
- Online marketing experience is a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft.com publishing guidelines, policies, processes and tools
- Experience with Microsoft brand guidelines, Microsoft.com visual style guide and MSTP style guide, Microsoft Learning style guide or Microsoft Partner Network style guide and guidelines a plus
- Experience with Global Marketing Platform (GMP) tools is a plus
- Experience with CSP publishing platform, Microsoft.com Download Center, Microsoft Partner Network, and Microsoft.com analytics/business intelligence tools is preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Learning products and services is preferred
- Experience with:
- Product Studio (intermediate level or higher)
- Microsoft Office (intermediate level or higher)
- WebTrends (intermediate level or higher)
- SharePoint (beginner level or higher)
